The Hanayama Cast Keyring puzzle is one of their simpler models.
A gold and silver piece are interlocked and the aim is to separate them and then reassemble. There is an extra layer to this puzzle though on each piece you will find a word, ‘key’ and ‘ring’, to correctly solve the puzzle these words must be facing each other once assembled otherwise you have not quite got it right.
The words are ambigrams and read the same even when upside down and were designed by Scott Kim. The puzzle design comes from renowned designer Oskar van Deventer.
The Cast Keyring is rated 2 out of 6 stars on the Hanayama difficulty scale.
