Description
Each day (other than Sundays) a cannon is fired in Edinburgh at exactly One O'Clock. Dating back to 1861 it was originally used so the ships in the Firth of Forth could accurately set their clocks. Today though the cannon is jammed!
The One O'Clock Gun puzzle is a fun sequential discovery puzzle, the aim is to try and free the cannonball that is trapped inside. You can hear it rattling around inside but it is just too big to fit through the barrel. There are several steps required to unlock this puzzle and free the cannonball.
This brass cannon puzzle is a real classic, it's design can be found included in Hoffmann's book Puzzles Old and New from 1893. It has a satisfying solution and makes for an attractive display piece once completed.
The solution is not provided with the puzzle but can be found on our site.
