Japanese Puzzle Box - Fuji and Tsubaki - 21 Steps

This handmade Japanese puzzle box features two very nice designs, Mount Fuji on one side and the Tsubaki flower on the other.

The Tsubaki flower is a striking red camilia which historically symbolized a noble death among warriors and samurai. It has now also come to represent love.

This is a larger 5 Sun box which requires 21 steps in order to open it.

A wonderful example of the traditional Japanese craft of puzzle box making this design requires ten steps to open.
